CHRIS MURPHY
A 1986 graduate of Arcadia High, Chris has found professional
success in an area far different from other alumni in this section.
Chris is a television journalist.
Following AHS, Chris attended UC San Diego and earned a BA
in communications. He began his career as a field producer at
KGET in Bakersfield. After that opportunity, Chris worked at
various California television stations all over central and
northern California. From 1997 to 2000, he was the news anchor
at KTVN in Reno. His newscast won a local Emmy award during
his tenure.
Chris moved to KPTV in Portland where he was a reporter and
weekend anchor. In November of 2002 he joined KRON in San Francisco
where he co-anchors the morning news. Chris and his wife, Laura,
live in San Francisco. He enjoys playing baseball on weekends
with his brother, who lives in Oakland, on the Tri Valley Red
Sox.
