In December of 2000,
Greg Tober
(class of 75) had an idea for an Arcadia alumni website. ArcadiaApaches.com
would maintain photos from various yearbooks, and would include news and
information about alumni events.
Greg
and Michelle Jorgensen (class of 66) began developing ideas, and
soon thereafter the design of ArcadiaApaches.com began. As the project
grew, so did the challenges of creating a website with thousands of yearbook
photos.
In April of 2001, Greg Tober asked Bruce Jenkins
(class of 72) for professional advice on how to redesign and permanently
maintain ArcadiaApaches.com.
Bruce introduced Greg to his
web designer, ComputerJohn.com.
Computer John faced enormous challenges in putting together more than 7,500
web pages. His sense of professionalism prevailed, and we succeeded
in making ArcadiaApaches.com the largest alumni website of its type on
the internet. John's innovative design has not gone unnoticed
in the web development community; ArcadiaApaches.com is the recipient of
a Golden
Web Award.
In May
of 2001, under the leadership of
Ray Pevey
(class of 77) The
Arcadia High School Alumni Association took ownership of ArcadiaApaches.com.
It's board members agreed that having an online presence would move alumni
activities into the 21st century.
ArcadiaApaches.com is online for all
to view. We hope that you share our vision of bringing alumni activities
to the web, and that you continue to support us in the years ahead.
