of 1979,
The time is
near, its time to hear… the Arcadia High Apaches Class of 1979,
30 Year Reunion. The Class of 1979 is returning in honor of the
cardinal and gold. Yes, our 30th Reunion of
classmates, friends and staff will be celebrated on Saturday
October 10, 2009 at the Turf club at the Santa Anita Racetrack.
The mission
of the Reunion Planning Committee and the Arcadia Alumna
Association is to create awareness within our circle of family,
friends and associates of the incredible traditions, memories
and friendships of our high school years.
The Mighty
Apaches remain a symbol of our alumni connectivity and the Big A
is still a part of the current campus architecture.
We have a
great hometown weekend planned to commemorate this milestone of
the Class of 79.
Friday
evening, October 9, we will kick-off this hometown weekend with
a tailgate party. (location TBA) Our hope is to then attend the
Varsity football game in which a section of the grandstands will
be reserved just for us. Who knows, maybe we can even get some
people from the Pep Band to play with the current Pep Band (how
about it Sal, Alex, Craig?) How about some of our cheerleaders,
pep flag or song leaders? What about you…Apache Joe, care to
make a prediction about the reunion?
The Hometown
evening will continue with an evening of great conversation,
inter-mixed with some spirits at Matt Denny’s Ale. This will
give some of you extended time to socialize with classmates
prior to the Saturday Night Grand Event…the Reunion.
Saturday
morning, we have arranged for a tour of the high school which
will begin with coffee and donuts at 10:45am followed by a tour
and presentation of the high school grounds. Why not reminisce
about the times you spent in the halls?
Saturday
evening will be the main event of the weekend. The Reunion of
the Class of 1979 and friends! This evening will include
dinner, dancing, and reminiscing and just plain fun.
I am betting
that you won’t want to miss our final activity, A Day at The
Races, planned for Sunday, October 11. This will event will be
a family event and a great conclusion to our hometown weekend.
So, don’t be
left out, please visit the Arcadia Alumni Association website at

register and update your bio information and photo. You can
also send updated information to:

In addition,
we have also formed a Facebook group (we are adding members
every day): Arcadia High School Class of 1979, where you can
post photos and include any Apache story, experience or
statement. You can even join in on one of the discussion groups
such as: Friends you want to track down, high school secrets
revealed, What ever happened to…? We will be including some of
the thought and pictures in a presentation at the reunion.
We want to
see and hear from you! After 30 years, you must have a lot to
tell us. This reunion weekend will be a hometown visit you
won’t want to miss and one you’ll be talking about until our
next reunion. It’s going to he a fun time for all! Please
